Star Wars 3 'not for young kids'

Vader
The new Star Wars film, Revenge of the Sith, is not for young kids the film's producer George Lucas has said.

He told a US TV show he thought the film will probably be a bit too scary for a five or six-year-old to watch.

Lucas said he reckons the film will probably get a PG-13 certificate in the US, which is roughly the same as a British 12A rating.

In the UK previous Star Wars films have mainly been given a U rating, except Attack of The Clones which got a PG.

Lucas was speaking as a new trailer for Revenge of the Sith hit cinemas in the US.

It's the darkest one yet, and focuses on Anakin Skywalker's move over to the dark side of The Force under the evil influence of Chancellor Palpatine.

Lots of space battles

There are plenty of space battle sequences plus an exciting duel on a volcanic planet.

Anakin looks increasingly evil in a huge dark hood with haunted eyes. Right at the end of the trailer we see Darth Vader crossing his arms and breathing heavily.

There are also glimpses of favourite characters like C-3P0, R2-D2 and Chewbacca.

Revenge of the Sith will be released in UK and the US on 19 May.
