If you want to know more about footie you're better off asking a girl, according to a new survey.
The research found that 59 per cent of women knew the offside law compared to just 55 per cent of men.
More women also knew the correct title of the two men with flags that run up and down the side of the pitch.
Forty per cent of men called them linesmen, but 65 per cent of women identified them as assistant referees.
However, 80 per cent of men could identify the kits of 20 Premiership teams, compared to just 33 per cent of women.
So who do YOU think knows more about football?
Do boys know the ins and outs of the players, teams and rules of the game?

I think girls can be equally as good as boys at football.

Football is about concentration and teamwork. Boys know about football more than girls.

I think boys know more about football because they watch more of it and like it more than girls.

I don't think it's a very fair thing to ask really. My whole family is mad about football, including my mum and me. But then I have a cousin, who happens to be a boy, who knows nothing about football. So I think it's a mixed thing, which has nothing to do with what gender you are!

I think boys know more than girls because football is more of a boys sport.

Some girls are way better than some boys but they don't really bother to play in case they break a nail or mess up their hair.

I think boys know the rules and play better.....girls enjoy it but I don't know how people can say it's not a man's sport because obviously it is!

Why? Because they have to know how to beat them when they play girls vs boys!

I don't care what politically correct term the FA invents for them, but they are, and always will be called Linesmen!
Michael, 12
I don't think those tests show anything - football consists of more than rules, and things like passion for football play a bigger part.
Tom, 14, Reading
The girls know the rules better than the boys...but most of the guys I know play better than the girls.

Sorry, but I reckon girls - hands down. Football's not just a man's sport anymore!
