Floods cause chaos across the UK

Floods have brought chaos to several areas of the UK.

Heavy rain has led to parts of Wales, Scotland and Cumbria in northern England being left under water.

Hundreds of homes have been flooded - some of them for the second time this year. Some people in Cumbria had only just recovered from floods in January.

Emergency services had to rescue several people from their homes, roads were closed and there were reports of cars being swept down flooded streets.

Weather experts said some areas - including Eskdalemuir in Scotland and Milford Haven in Wales - were hit by as much rainfall in 24 hours as many places get in a month.

The rain was set to hit the south coast of England and London on Wednesday, but the outlook for Thursday was dry.

It has been raining here all day and there was a lot of flooding around our school grounds. But I wouldn't mind half term coming early :)

I was amazed to see all of that flooding and I hope everyone is safe.

I am concerned about the flooding. The river has gone brown and I think our school might get flooded.

My auntie lived in Wales and her house got flooded. She's scared of it being more flooded as well - she is coming to stay with us tonight!

This time round the floods seemed a lot worse. I had to walk to school on my own and got soaking wet then when I arrived at school we were all sent home!
