A simple series of injections could help to get rid of one of the most common forms of cancer in women.
The cervix is part of the female reproductive system. Each year, cancer of the cervix kills 1,000 UK women.
A new drug called Gardasil works by attacking the viruses which cause most cases of the cancer.
Researchers say that the injections should be given to girls aged between 10 and 13 to help protect them against getting cancer in later life.
More than 12,000 women from 13 countries have taken part in tests for the drug.
A two-year trial found that Gardasil was 100% effective at preventing early stage cancers caused by the viruses.
A spokesman for Cancer Research UK said the results showed "great promise for the future".
