At 3.7 million square miles, China is one of the biggest countries in the world.
It contains the world's biggest city, Shanghai, and is ruled from capital Beijing, in the east.
Over 1.3 billion people live in China, making one in every five people in the world Chinese.
Its history stretches back over 4,000 years, and it has given the world, among other things, fireworks, pasta and paper money.
But it's also a quite a secretive country, and is only just opening up to countries in the west.
