Kids to teach elderly to use web

Children are said to be best placed to give grandparents net skills

Children are being encouraged to help grandparents get into the internet.

A special website teaching kids how to become "internet rangers" and help the elderly learn about the web has been launched by communications company BT.

They think young people and teenagers are really good getting at reluctant grandparents to go online.

The Internet Rangers website includes top tips on how to surf the web safely, as well as guides on how to use search engines and web-based email.

It also includes a list of sites your grandparents might be interested in looking at.

According to recent research, by the year 2025 around 23 million adults could be missing out on the web because they don't know how to use it.
