Britney songs top 'annoying' poll

Britney Spears
Songs by Britney Spears have topped a poll of the music which drives shop workers mad.

People who work in shops often have to listen to the same album being played in the background up to 20 times a week, a survey has shown.

And half the staff said they had received complaints from customers who were driven mad by repetitive songs.

Some of the other most annoying artists were Usher, Kylie, 50 Cent, Robbie Williams, Akon, Beyonce and Blue.

Christmas was shown to be the most annoying time of year for songs, with complaints of the same old seasonal tunes being played over and over again.

The most annoying xmas tracks were said to be Jingle Bells, Merry Christmas Everyone by Slade and White Christmas by Bing Crosby.

A survey spokesman said the results showed music in shops can be "toxic" and that store managers should take care to vary the tracks.
