Lonely hearts ad to find teacher

Stebbing Primary School
A school has placed a lonely hearts advert to help find a new head teacher.

The ad said that they were looking for someone with a "good sense of humour" and they must be willing to have a "serious relationship" with the school.

Staff at Stebbing Primary School in Dunmow, Essex, said they placed the unusual ad to stand out from the crowd.

"We like to have fun here," a staff member told Newsround Online. "We want someone who can create a nice happy atmosphere for the children to be in."

The advert says:

'Small Village Primary School - WLTM - New Headteacher.
For fun and good times with a view to a long term relationship.
Lonely Hearts lingo
WLTM means would like to meet
GSOH means good sense of humour
Our ideal Partner should have the following attributes:
GSOH, Drive, Ambition, Leadership skills.'

They've had a much bigger response to this advert than previous ones, and the spokeswoman said they hoped to find their "ideal head" now.

The school is one of several in Essex which has started the new year without a head teacher.

'Fit in'

Some of the older pupils helped out with a local TV broadcast about the unusual job advert, and had great fun doing it, the spokeswoman added.

"Our school is a really nice place to be and we need somebody who can fit in with that," she said. "But of course there is a very serious side to education as well and we need someone who can work very hard."
