Your verdict on animal mummies show

A cool exhibition - Animal Mummies Of Ancient Egypt - opened at Hertfordshire's Walter Rothschild Zoological Museum on Monday.

These guys were among the first to check it out. Here's what they thought...

Alex

Name: Alex
Age: 12
From: Harpenden
What do you think of the exhibition?
We did a bit on the Egyptians at school. It's really interesting to see the animals so close up. It's amazing that they are so well preserved after thousands of years.

George

Name: George
Age: 13
From: Harpenden
What do you think of the exhibition?
The idea of mummifying animals is a bit strange and gruesome, but they are interesting to look at. The rest of the museum is really good too.

Ellie

Name: Ellie
Age: Nine
From: Wansted
What do you think of the exhibition?
I think it's amazing because you never see animals like this. You usually see them in a zoo, so it's interesting to see mummified animals.

Rozalyn

Name: Rozalyn
Age: 10
From: Tring
What do you think of the exhibition?
My favourite exhibit is the mummified cat. You don't see something like that every day! I've been drawing a picture of it.

Sophia

Name: Sophia
Age: Nine
From: Leighton Buzzard
What do you think of the exhibition?
I like the crocodile mummy. I didn't expect to see that. I thought it was interesting that the Ancient Egyptians put jewellery on crocodiles.

Jessica

Name: Jessica
Age: 12
From:Leighton Buzzard
What do you think of the exhibition?
I've been reading about how they took out the intestines and other organs before mummifying the animals. It made me cringe a bit, but it was fascinating.
