Teachers want behaviour crackdown

Boys fighting
A group of teachers wants a major crackdown in bad behaviour including swearing and bullying in schools.

The National Union of Teachers says the government should clear up exactly what they're allowed to do to stop pupils who cause disruption in the classroom.

It has called for schools to set up lists of rules which are supported by pupils and teachers, and are also backed up by parents.

It also wants kids who cause lots of problems in class to be expelled.

The NUT says the moves are important because they will stop badly behaved kids holding back their classmates.

The government say that although most of the time behaviour is good in schools, they've set up a group of experts to come up with ideas to make it better.
