A labrador called Timber who saved his owner from a car that was hurtling towards them has been named Heroic Guide Dog Of The Year.
He pulled his owner, Arthur Griffiths, out of the way of the car, which had crashed and was spinning towards where they were standing in Crewe.
Arthur, who is blind, said: "Timber is my hero and undoubtedly saved my life." Timber was among several dogs which were honoured at an Guide Dogs for the Blind Association awards ceremony.
Life-changing
Other winners included labrador-retriever cross Eamon, who won Life-Changing Guide Dog Of The Year.
His owner, 19-year-old Stuart Beveridge, could previously only leave his home in Fife if he was with a parent or helper.
The Exceptional Work award went to golden retriever Vale for her amazing memory in taking her owner, Nicola Cockburn of Llandudno, along lots of different routes.
Labrador-retriever cross Vaughn won Guide Dog Of The Year for his "outstanding loyalty and devotion" to owner Susan Jones of Warrington.
