My school bus needs to improve

Press Packer Rebecca

Press Packer Rebecca catches a bus to school every day.

However, her bus often turns up late or is too overcrowded for everyone to get on board.

In her report she tells us why she is getting so frustrated.

"As I live over three miles away from my school I am entitled to a free bus pass.

Finding my own transport

This means I can get to school and back every week day during term time.

Unfortunately this is not always the case.

I have often turned up late to school or have been forced to provide my own transport because my bus was late or did not turn up.

Also, many of the buses we have been sent have not had enough seats on them for our entire bus load.

On top of that, many of our drivers do not check to see if we have the correct bus pass which leads to more overcrowding.

Great bus drivers

Although there are many problems with our bus service, lots of the drivers are great because they put up with a lot.

I have seen dangerous behaviour; some of the students talk to the driver, sing loudly or throw food and water.

I would like to see an improvement in bus journeys as it is one of the most eco-friendly ways I am able to get to school."

Rebecca, 8
