Home-help robot revealed in Japan

Wakamaru
A robot that can understand 10,000 words and recognise 10 faces is set to go on sale in Japan, and it can even help you out in the home.

The one-metre tall Wakamaru robot can apparently watch your house when you're out, act like your secretary and even look after a sick person.

Makers Mitsubishi said: "This is the opening of an era in which human beings and robots can co-exist."

The metal helper, which moves on six wheels, will cost about £8,000.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries says it's the first robot that can communicate to be sold for using around the home.

But they haven't revealed whether it can clean your room for you.
