Are you worried about mobile danger?
|
A recent survey into mobile phones suggests that children should be careful how much they use their mobiles.
Experts are worried that kids are especially at risk from the radiation given off by mobiles because their skulls aren't fully grown.
Are YOU worried about the effects of using your mobile too much?
Perhaps you only really use your mobile to text?
Or maybe you don't really think it's a problem?

I think mobile phones are a really good idea but not if you use them to much. I stick with texting and only use my mobile when I need it in emergencies.

I am worried. I'm not going to use my mobile as much.
Kadie, 14, Lincolnshire
I only use my mobile to phone people once or twice a week- all my credit goes on txting. I only ring people more than that if I really need to.
Amy, 12, London
I am worried about the radiation and stuff that my phone can do to me but I only use my phone to call people in an emergency because it's so expensive.

I am worried about what could happen to me with my phone, but I only use my mobile for testing mainly. The only time I use it to call someone is when I'm out with friends and I phone home.
Nicola, 15, Wednesbury
I don't phone unless it's an emergency, I always text. My sister uses her phone a lot and I tell her the dangers but she doesn't listen.
Suzanne, 11, Lanark
My mum dad and sister have them - I don't yet - my mum hates the idea of kids having mobiles and thinks they should introduce 'text only' mobiles - safer and cheaper - they'd be great for kids.
Kathryn, 11, Whitley Bay
I hardly use my phone, but when I do use it I mostly text, I only ring people when I have to. I am a bit worried about the effects but the amount I use my phone I don't think it will be a problem.
Amy, 13, Chelmsford
They are thinking about putting a phone mast up by my school and people are REALLY annoyed about it. I'm not worried about using my phone cos I normally text!
Joanna, 12, Edinburgh

I really love my mobile and I can't stay off it!
Shauna, 11, Padiham
I love using my mobile. Even though I know about the risks I still use it a lot. I think I should use it less though.
Jessica, 13, Jersey
I got a mobile for Christmas and I use it for texts. I only ring if it is an emergency. I am sort of worried about the side effects.
Caitlin, 10, Hull
I only use my mobile in emergencies. I always take it with me and I think everyone should have one for emergencies.
Imran, 13, South Norwood

Riona, 11, Strabane

Kaelia, 15, Brighton
My school gets paid to have a mobile phone mast on the roof. When it was first put up people were really worried about the effects of the radiation. Nobody knows whether there could be long term effects. It's unfair that we do not have a say in the matter.
Phoebe, 13, Durham
I'm not that worried about mobiles. I always text - it's cheaper.
Katie, 12, Wales
I think that they are making too much of a deal about mobiles. Most of the time I am just texting.
Alice, 13, Ipswich
I'm not worried, until there's proof I'm not going to stop using my phone. There are parents who wont give their children phones because of the supposed health risks, but if you get stuck somewhere or something happens and you don't have one you'll be in even worse trouble.
Rosie, 15, Didcot
I am not obsessed with using my phone, as I am on pay as you go so I watch my money and tend to text, but everyone should try and use them less often.
Emma, 13, U.K.
I don't think of it as a problem right now because 99% of the time I am texting because ringing uses too much credit.
Ebony, 11, Swansea
I don't really use my phone that often like my friends do, I only use it if I'm out somewhere and I need to contact my parents.
Rachel, 14, Newcastle Upon Tyne
I don't think they're a problem. It's not like we're on it 24 hours a day and I only use mine when I need to.
Jessica, 15, U.K.
I am a bit worried about the effects of using my mobile so I only really use it to text. When I'm at home I use the landline.
