Quake survivors face croc danger

Survivors of the tsunami disaster are facing a new danger - hungry crocodiles have been lurking around the Indian Ocean island of Hut Bay.

Crocs have been creeping around broken jettys and they're frightening people trying to leave the island.

Survivors have had to fight the crocodiles to get on boats waiting to take them to safety.

Wildlife wardens say the tsunami may have wiped out the sealife the crocs eat so they're looking for food.

They also believe the crocodiles have become more aggressive since the earthquake.

It's thought that many animals avoided the tsunami on December 26 because they may have the ability to sense early danger.
