Scary US rating for Potter movie

Dan Radcliffe and Emma Watson
The next Harry Potter film will be too scary for younger kids, according to rumours on internet fan sites.

Sites like Mugglenet and The Leaky Cauldron say Warner Brothers has told them Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is going to be a PG-13 in the US.

PG-13 is about the same as our 12a, which means very young kids won't be able to see the film without an adult.

The film apparently received the rating because it has "sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images".

Newsround spoke to Warner Brothers, who are making the film.

They told us the final decision about what rating the film would be in the UK wouldn't be made until it had been seen by film censors.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is set to come out in cinemas in November.
