My new term revision tips

Exams
Many pupils will be facing unit tests and mock exams when they start term again this week.

In Kathryn's report, she gives her top tips to help ease the stress of revision.

"Are you like me and lots of others, who are swamped in work or have lots of revision to do before an exam?

Don't know where to start? Well don't worry, you're not alone!

Top tips

Revision and exam stress is common throughout junior and teenage schooling.

Here are my top tips to help you though your exam worries and to stop you being overloaded with homework or revision:

  • Make sure you start revising straight away as soon as you know you are going to have a test

  • Make sure you don't put off all your revision till the night before the exam. That is a very bad idea as it is more strain and pressure for you and jeopardises your mark overall.

  • Relax, be patient and work at a steady pace, don't expect to learn everything at once because you won't, little and often is the trick.

  • And finally try different techniques for remembering things, if you forget easily always go over it in your head and try practicing it over and over.

Anyway I hope I have helped you overcome any worries about revising or helped you learn more about organising revision and learning. "

Kathryn, 14, Lingdale
