Celebrities 'inspire dogs' names'

This dog's called Bumpy - like the one from Noddy!
Choosing a name for your dog is tough and a survey has revealed that more of us are looking to the celebrity world for inspiration.

Rambo or Rocky - film characters played by Sylvester Stallone - was the top choice for young people in the poll of 1,000 pet-lovers.

The second most popular option was Ozzy, as in Osbourne.

Elvis, Posh and Britney made up the top five in the survey by the Pro Plan Pup Of The Year competition.

It also revealed how dogs' names have changed over the decades.

Fifty years ago, pooches were called names like George, Thomas and Arthur.

These days, popular choices include Snoop (as in rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg), Tyson (as in boxer Mike) and Harley (inspired by the Harley Davidson motorcycle).
