I interviewed Bob Geldof

James
James interviewed Bob Geldof, the organiser of Live 8, for Newsround.

He tells us about the experience

"I was really excited when I found out I was going to interview Bob Geldof - I've heard loads about him.

He was launching a smaller version of the Commission for Africa report, which says we need to do more to help the people there.

Before the interview, I went through my questions with the producer, and then we went to the press conference.

Really hectic

It was really crowded, and there were loads of cameramen and photographers.

Flashes went off all the time, but I was lucky enough to get to ask him a question.

Then it was time for our one-on-one interview.

I was nervous before I started talking to him, but he was very kind and down-to-earth.

I asked him if he still thought kids should go to Edinburgh to put pressure on world leaders even if it meant skippinig school.

"Yes. I think it's very important that children engage in changing the world," he replied.

"Your classes will always tell you that individuals can make change, and they really can.

"I think schools should put on coaches to take the younger ones up there."

We talked for ten minutes, and I'm pretty happy with how I did.

I was really glad to have met someone who could actually change the world for the better."
