Tony Blair and George Bush have said they are close to a very important agreement which will help Africa.
The US and the UK want to get rid of the debt owed by 32 African countries, as long as they agree to improve the way they do certain things.
The US also promised to give $674m (£350m) in aid to Africa, although this is less than the UK wanted them to.
Mr Blair and Mr Bush talked in the US a month before a meeting of world leaders in Scotland called the G8 summit.
Prime Minister Blair earlier said he hoped to convince rich countries to give an extra $25bn (£13.5bn) more in African aid than they had promised.
Mr Blair and Mr Bush had also been talking about climate change, but didn't reach an agreement on what to do about it.
The UK is one of a number of countries that want to reduce global warming by reducing the amount of gas produced that causes it.
At the moment the US hopes its scientists will come up with ideas to battle climate change without the need to reduce gases.
