Video warns kids of gun dangers

A new video is being launched to teach secondary school kids about the dangers of guns and drugs.

The video - called Watching Over Me - features the story of 13-year-old George Atkinson, who was accidentally shot dead with an air gun.

He is shown laughing on a day out to the beach with friends. Two days later, George, from north Wales, was dead.

The video, for 12 to 15-year-olds, has been made in a soap opera-style and also covers race issues.

George's mum has become a campaigner for the Gun Control Network.

She said: "Airguns have become more dangerous. I would like to see them locked up in the home.

"If the gun that George was playing with was locked up, he would still be with us now. He would be 18."
