Charity man completes bike ride

Charity adventurer Lloyd Scott
Lloyd Scott celebrated on Bondi beach after finishing his cycle ride from Perth to Sydney on a penny farthing.

Dressed as Sherlock Holmes, he pedalled the 2,700 miles across Australia in 50 days for up to 12 hours each day on the famously uncomfortable bike.

The dad from Essex started his latest adventure in October to raise money for a children's charity.

But the journey hasn't been a smooth ride. Ten days into the trip he hit a pothole and fell off the cycle.

He's also had to put up with a swarm of locusts and a magpie attack during the adventure.

Best friend

Talking about the bike, he said: "As well as being my best friend, I suppose it's also been my worst enemy."

Difficult challenges are nothing new to Lloyd Scott.

Last year he completed the first underwater marathon by walking 26 miles underneath Scotland's Loch Ness dressed in an antique diving suit.

So far he's raised 60,000 and is aiming to make a 1 million.
