Blue Peter name book award winner

Blue Peter has announced the winners of its 2004 book awards.

A panel of nine Blue Peter viewers judged the contest, naming Man On The Moon by Simon Bartram best illustrated book to read aloud.

The story, about a man called Bob who looks after the moon, was also voted overall winner of book of the year.

The Ultimate Book Guide by Daniel Hahn won best book with facts, and Montmorency by Eleanor Updale walked away with book I couldn't put down.

Overall winner Simon Bartram said: "The standard of the other books was so high and I'm really pleased that this year a picture book has been chosen.

"So forgive the pun, but I'm over the moon, seeing stars and still to come back down to earth!"
