Prince Harry was returning from Argentina on Friday, amid reports that shots had been fired at the polo ranch where he had been working.
Local papers claimed that gunfire was heard at the property in Salvador Maria on Wednesday and guards responded by firing into the air.
Officials said the gunmen were poachers and Harry was calm about the incident.
A Royal spokesman said that Harry had not cut short his trip and was always expected to return to the UK on Friday.
The 20-year-old spent most of November working at the ranch, although a knee injury has prevented him from playing polo.
Following the Christmas break, Harry is set to start training to become a soldier on 9 January.
