Why have they left their homes?

Millions of people have left their homes in Darfur as it is not safe for them to stay.

Sudan has a troubled history. Apart from an 11 year period of peace between 1972 -1983 the country has been at war with itself.

Since February 2003 more than 70,000 people have been killed in Darfur. Despite peace talks in May the fighting and murder of villagers has continued.
