Film: The Incredibles

Release date
26 November (cert U)

The stars
Samuel L. Jackson provides the voice for Frozone, Holly Hunter for Elastigirl

The plot
A family with super powers are trying to lead a normal life in suburbia after the government has forced all superheroes 'underground'.

Bob Parr, (the dad/Mr Incredible), fed up with his dull life and longing for some evil-fighting action, illegally accepts a top-secret assignment on a remote tropical island.

But he's been lured there by evil superhero wanna-be, Syndrome, and it's up to his wife and two kids to come to his rescue!

Best bits
Helen Parr (the mum/Elastigirl) gets her leg stuck in a door while being chased by guards - but still manages to fight them off with her incredible elastic arms!

Fave characters
The Incredible family are all fantastic, Syndrome is an excellent baddie and Edna Mode is just fabulous dahling!

Any weak bits?
Not really no

Hit or miss?
Smash hit! It has all the action of your superhero movies like Spiderman and Superman as well as the humour of Shrek and Nemo.

The animation is on a whole new level than ever before with the characters looking believable as humans, but with some comical differences like their sizes!

Also the way the animators have got the hair to look so realistic is amazing.

And because it's animated, the superpowers the characters are capable of are... incredible!

The storyline is also very strong and you never feel you don't want to watch on.

NR rating:

Five out of Five!

Have YOU seen it yet?

I think this film is one of the best animated films I've ever seen! My favourite character is Dash (the boy) because he can run really fast.

This film is really really good. I went to see it at the European premier and it was really good. The guy who does Edna Mode's voice came to talk to us and he was really funny. Go and see this film because it is WICKED!!!!

The Incredibles captures the Golden Age of comics and is a smash hit, with a few surprises. If you're a kid you will love it, if you're an adult you will love and if you're a comic book geek you will love it even more. It's a hit for all the family

I loved this movie! I wanted to know what was going to happen all the time. I liked how the boy could run across the water, and how the mom could make herself into a boat, parachute...
Elizabeth, 14, Lancaster

Not good at all.
Will, 12, London

It's heavy - it's better than Nemo and Shark Tale put together. I hope there's a 2nd one.
Sam, 12, Notting Hill

I think it is fab. It's a family with super heroes - what is better than that?
Robert, 11, Glasgow

I'm sorry to say that I think the film The Incredibles wasn't very incredible. It was sooo boring because my friend even fell asleep in the movie theatre because it was sooo boring. I would only give it an 1/5.
Laura, 14, Grimsby

The Incredibles is just so incredibly good!!!! My fave characters would have to be Edna Mode and Dash! I liked the bit where Dash puts the tack on the teacher's chair because it looks as if he has not moved. I also liked the part where Dash is running away from the flying disks, which fire gun bullets, and as he is running so fast he actually managed to run on water!!!!! So I really recommend it.
