Extra software you'll need

CBBC Newsround Online is designed to work on most browsers.

However, some of the games, Guides and audio and video may need extra software.

RealPlayer
To watch and listen to our video and audio clips, you'll need Real Player. Some internet browsers come with this installed.

If you haven't got RealPlayer, you can get it free by going to www.real.com.

When you get there scroll down the front page of the site until you reach the bottom. On the right hand side is a section called "Free Downloads". Click on the icon saying "Real Player FREE Download" and follow the onscreen instructions.

It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to download.

If you are still having problems, check out the BBC's technical help section.

Flash
To watch some of our Guides and play the games, you'll need Flash.

Some internet browsers come with this installed.

If you haven't got Flash, you can get it free by going to www.macromedia.com.

On the homepage click on the word "Download". On the next screen click on the icon saying "Macromedia Flash Player" and follow the onscreen instructions.

It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to download.

If you are still having problems, check out the BBC's technical help section.

Shockwave
To play some of our games, you'll need Shockwave.

If you haven't got Shockwave, you can get it free by going to www.macromedia.com.

On the homepage click on the word "Download". On the next screen click on the icon saying "Macromedia Shockwave Player" and follow the onscreen instructions.

Shockwave is quite large and could take up to 10 minutes to download - but it does include Flash too.

If you are still having problems, check out the BBC's technical help section.
