GB Olympic stars shine in parade

Kelly Holmes won two Olympic golds
Thousands of people watched as Great Britain's Olympic and Paralympic athletes paraded through London to celebrate their success in Athens.

At least 47 Olympic medal winners and 37 Paralympic winners took part in the procession, which started on Piccadilly and finished in Trafalgar Square.

The sports stars travelled along the route in five sports-themed floats.

Double gold-medallist Kelly Holmes said: "This is amazing. I could never have imagined the response I got."

After the parade, the stars went on to meet the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

Team GB got 30 medals in the Olympics, and nine of them were gold.

That's the best medal haul by Britain since 1984.

The British Paralympic team came second in the overall medal table, with 94 medals, including 35 golds.
