Can anyone become President?

Elmo
It's a long and hard journey to the top job at the White House.

And not everyone can get there.

You're only in with a chance if you were born in the United States, and if you're at least 35 years old.

You must also have lived in country for at least 14 years during your life.

But apart from those conditions, the President can be a man or a woman of any race or any religion.

But once you've become President, it doesn't last forever, as the rules state one person can only be in the top job for eight years maximum.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the only person to be voted President for more than two terms. He was elected four times.
