OBE

David and Victoria Beckham
OBE stands for Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

This is part of a group of honours called Orders of the British Empire. They were created by King George V during world war one.

Celebrities from the world of sport and entertainment who get an honour normally get awards from this group.

People with OBE's include David Beckham and TV presenter Bill Odie.

They can write the letters after their name, so the proper title for Becks is:
David Beckham OBE
