Michael Jackson first found fame as a child star, singing with some of his brothers in a group called the Jackson Five.

It was in the 1980s when Jackson became a global megastar. He released the album Thriller, which is now the biggest-selling album of all time.
By 1987, as Jackson's fame continued to grow, the star began to look different. He said he had a condition called vitiligo which makes skin go blotchy.
In 1994 Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley. The marriage lasted just 19 months. By this time Jackson had started to look very pale indeed.
In 1996 he married a second time to Debbie Rowe, who used to be his nurse. They remained married until 1999 and had two children together.
In 2005 Jackson was arrested for hurting a 14-year-old child. A jury decided he wasn't guilty after a trial that made headlines around the world.
Jackson was due to start a series of comeback concerts in London in July 2009. Tickets for the 50 shows sold out within hours of going on sale in March.
But the star, one of the most successful recording artists of all time, died suddenly in Los Angeles, America, at the age of 50 on 25 June 2009.
