UNHCR stands for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Its High Commissioner is António Guterres, the former Portuguese prime minister.

It looks after the rights and well-being of refugees.

It was established on December 14, 1950 by the United Nations General Assembly.

Celebrities like Angelina Jolie are employed by the UNHCR as goodwill ambassadors - people who use their fame to raise awareness of the problems of refugees.

The UNHCR has helped an estimated 50 million people restart their lives.
