What jobs can't I do?

If you're under 16, you're not allowed to work as a street trader, according to Section 20 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933.

But if you're at least 14, your local council may have special rules that let you work for your parents in these jobs.

Schoolchildren are not allowed to work in industry, according to the Employment of Women, Young Persons and Children Act 1920.

And you can't work in television, theatre or other similar activities, including modelling, without a performance licence given by your local authority.
