Do India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons?

Many people are worried because both sides have been developing nuclear weapons.

In 1998, both India and Pakistan announced they had conducted several underground nuclear tests.

These test explosions were widely criticised throughout the world.

Since then the situation has calmed.

In June 2004 the countries agreed to continue a ban a on testing their nuclear weapons, and also agreed to talk to each other about any potential nuclear problems.
