Digital TV

Why does it cost so much?

The cost of digital TV depends on how you get it and the equipment you use.

If you get your digital TV by satellite, broadband or cable, you usually pay a monthly subscription for a standard TV package, which usually includes all the free channels and a few extras.

But it can cost even more to get extra things like specialist channels for films and sport.

Alternatively, you can buy a box that lets you get digital TV through your ordinary aerial.

It's a one-off payment and you can access more than 40 TV channels, 20 radio channels and other extras for free, but you get far fewer channels than with satellite, broadband or cable packages.
