Some people in favour of fox hunting

Fox hunting debate

Most members of the House of Lords including Baroness Mallalieu who is President of the Countryside Alliance.

Some members of the House of Commons. In 2002, 154 of them voted not to ban hunting.

Most Conservative MPs. The party's then leader Michael Howard, amongst others, made speeches opposing a ban on hunting.

The Countryside Alliance which is a pressure group that tries to change how the Government spends money and makes laws.

The Alliance wants things done in a way that is better for people living in the countryside.

Some people in the Alliance are mainly worried about fox hunting. Others are more interested in a better deal for farmers.

Most are worried about a fox hunting ban but also think the countryside is not being treated fairly by the Government.
