What if their claim for asylum is rejected?

If their appeal fails, they can be made to leave the country

A new law says if their claim is rejected, asylum seekers can only appeal once, and it must take less than six months.

If their appeal fails, they can be made to leave the country, called being "deported". But every effort is made to send them to a "safe" country.
