He's be away for a while but Darius is back on the scene with a new single and a new album.
His new single Kinda Love is released on Monday 18 October and his album follows later this year.
Perhaps the tallest man in pop, he popped along to the NR studio to tell Rachel all about his new music and why the music business is a family affair.
Your last single Girl in the Moon came out last summer. What have you been up to?
I've spent the last year doing the other half of being a singer/songwriter - writing songs.
But also my father was diagnosed with cancer and I faced the prospect of losing him.
I wrote a song for my Dad, to tell him how I felt about him. He said you must release this song and that song was Live Twice, the title of the album.
And I think my second album Live Twice is some of the best material I've written. I'm back with a vengeance!
What's your new single Kinda Love about ?
It's kinda about love! It's about the insecurity you feel when you're in love with someone. Just a little moment with them makes your day.
In the video you're running over sand dunes, did anything go wrong?
I landed flat on my face a couple of times. There was some quicksand only 10 feet away.
One of the cameramen lost his tripod - he turned around and it was sinking down and then it was gone.
What do you think about the stuff in the charts at the moment?
I really like Daniel Bedingfield. I think Daniel and I are the new generation of singer/songwriters. His single, Nothing Hurts Like Love, is really beautiful.
And his sister Natasha, she's awesome. She's a really wonderful singer.
The songs are so catchy. These Words is a song I really wish I'd written!
Seeing McFly and Maroon 5 is really exciting as there's a guitar revival and that for me is really cool as my guitar is like a mate, I take him everywhere!
