Girls Aloud can't topple DJ tune
Updated 26 September 2004, 19.00
Girls Aloud were a new entry at number two
Girls Aloud couldn't quite sell enough tunes to topple DJ Eric Prydz who's hung onto the top spot with Call on Me.

Love Machine stayed put at number two, with the only change in the top three coming from Nelly who crept up one to three with My Place/Flap Your Wings.

Jo-Jo was hot on his heels with her hit Leave (Get Out), and Green Day slipped one place to five with American Idiot.

But it wasn't all bad news for the Indie band - their new album shot to the top of the album chart.

Back in the singles top ten, ex-Westlifer Brian McFadden stayed still at number six, and 3 of a Kind's Baby Cakes remained at number seven.

Over in the album charts is was also bad news for Nat - her debut album Unwritten fell two to number five.

Embrace, who made room for Green Day, slid to number two with Out of Nothing.

And Maroon 5 climbed one to number three with Songs About Jane.
