  Hyrise tipped as Eurovision entry
Updated 28 February 2004, 15.07
Hyrise are one of the Eurovision hopefuls
Hyrise are tipped to be named the UK Eurovision Song Contest entry for 2004 in a Pop Idol-style show on Saturday.

In 2003 Jemini didn't get any points at all with their song Cry Baby, so the way UK entries are picked has been changed to give the public a choice.

The six acts all hoping to sing for their country will have to impress a panel of judges and then wait and see which of them the public vote for.

This year's Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Turkey on 15 May.

The show is called Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up and is named after the song that won the contest for UK act Bucks Fizz in 1981.

Composers who previously worked with Blue, Christina Aguilera, Westlife, Ronan Keating, and Cher have written five songs for the artists - and a sixth has come through the traditional route of the British Academy.

Ex-Fame Academy student James Fox is also one of the six hopefuls hoping to be singing in Turkey.

Eurovison: Making Your Mind Up begins tonight at 6.35pm on BBC1.
