The Darkness pleaded with fans to make them number one this week, saying they had the only "Christmassy" song.
The wacky rockers are only just ahead of Michael Andrews and Gary Jules in the race for the xmas chart-topper.
Justin Hawkins and The Darkness were at a record signing in London on Friday to promote their track, Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End).
"The main thing is that our song should be the soundtrack for Christmas," Justin said.
'We're nervous'
Speaking about the Gary Jules song, Mad World, Justin said: "It's a great song but how Christmassy is it? Not very is the answer, not very Christmassy at all."
