The public voted to boot the pair off the TV talent show after watching their performances on Saturday night.

Brian, from London, and Marc, from Essex, failed to impress the judges too. Pete branded Marc "lifeless" and Simon said Brian was "pub-singerish".

But they were full of praise for Roxanne Cooper from Hull. Simon said she was in "a different league". Eight finalists are now left in the contest.

The theme for Saturday's programme was to "sing a song from the year you were born".

Susanne Manning and Sam Nixon have both been tipped to win the show.
