  Pop Idol stars hope for Xmas hit

 Roxanne will be hoping for an Xmas number one
The 12 finalists on Pop Idol will be hoping for a special Christmas present this year - the Christmas number one.

All 12 of them will team up to record a new version of one of the most famous Christmas single - John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War Is Over).

They're already being tipped for the top spot, ahead of former favourites The Darkness.

Boyband Blue and Sir Cliff Richard are other big names hoping to be number one on Christmas Day.

The Pop Idol finalists release their single on December 15 and a special Christmas album a week earlier.

Happy Xmas (War Is Over) was originally a hit for John and Yoko and the Plastic Ono Band in 1972, when it reached number four, and again in 1980 when it hit number two.
