Lizzie Greenwood auditioned for Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell.
Here she describes her encounter with pop's harshest critic.
But don't worry - it looks like she won't be leaving Newsround for pop stardom just yet...
"On Friday a newspaper set up a special line where people could telephone Simon Cowell and try out for Pop Idol.
So I thought I'd have a go!
I was very very nervous. It's not everyday you get to perform for pop's Mr Nasty and I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to get through to him.
I chose to sing Avril Lavigne's Sk8er Boy - I was so scared I was shaking but I think I did it OK.
But Simon Cowell didn't seem to think so. He told me to stop after just one verse and told me there was absolutely no chance of being a pop star!
I have to say he wasn't as mean as I expected him to be - he said he was sure I was a very good TV presenter but that he thought singing just isn't my thing.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed.
So that's it for me now - there'll be no more attempts at a pop career.
Now I've been told by Simon I will get rid of my pop ambitions forever. Maybe I should have chosen a song that suits my voice better...
But I am relieved I don't ever have to sing in front of him again.
And I'm really glad I gave it my best shot. For now I'll stick to presenting! "
