Napster became incredibly popular and millions of people around the world downloaded songs from it, completely for free.
It worked by users sharing and swapping music files called mp3s over the internet.
But it was illegal because artists weren't getting any money for their songs which were swapped, so it was shut down.
When you buy CDs in the shops, some of the money goes to the band itself.
'Biggest online catalogue'
Now it's being relaunched as Napster 2.0 as a legal download service.
It's thought it'll have the largest online music catalogue in the world with over 500,000 songs.
Fans will have to pay either monthly or just for the song they buy.
And the story of Napster will also be made into a feature film!
