Updated 23 April 2003, 16.07
Cover for Madonna's new album, American Life
Madonna's been trying to stop people pinching her new album on the internet.

She's sent out loads of fake tracks on music websites.

When people click on them to download, instead of hearing music from the album, American Life, they're sworn at by Madonna.

But she didn't stop people getting the album for free, because many MP3 websites were still offering it.

Pop stars angry

Lots of pop stars are really annoyed that their music is being offered for free on websites, because they don't get any money from it.

Madonna's really hacked off with people pinching her music.

Parts of her last album, Music, showed up on websites like Napster before the album was in the shops.

But, someone has tried to get their own back on Madonna's angry message.

For a short while they managed to hack into her official site and offer album tracks for download!
