So Solid star talks about his court case
Updated 05 June 2003, 21.28

Kaish has been cleared of gun and drug charges
Kaish spoke to Newsround about his court case
So Solid Crew's Kaish has spoken exclusively to Newsround after he was cleared in court of gun and drug charges.

He'd spent four months in jail waiting for his trial, and his lawyers say that his case wasn't handled fairly because of So Solid Crew's reputation.

He said: "[It's] because [of] who I am everybody thinks So Solid is to do with guns and violence. That is totally unfair."

Kaish - real name Shane Neil - admits that the group haven't been squeaky clean in the past, with member Asher D spending 18 months in prison for having a gun.

"What happened to Asher back then has affected So Solid," said Kaish.

"But at the same time he's actually come of his situation now and learnt from his mistake and he knows what he did wrong."

But that message doesn't seem to be getting to everybody. Government dissed rap stars

Back in January the government said that rap and garage music make violence and guns look cool, blaming bands like So Solid for the gun crime.

That's one of the reasons why Kaish's legal team think he didn't get a fair deal, and are even considering legal action against the government.
