Cheryl Tweedy has been charged with assault
Girls Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy has been charged with an attack linked with racism.

The incident happened in a Surrey nightclub according to Police.

A spokeswoman at Staines police station said the charge followed an incident at a nightclub in Guildford on 11 January.

The spokeswoman said: "Cheryl Tweedy of Newcastle was charged with the offences when she returned to Staines today on bail.

"She has been on police bail following the incident in the early hours of 11 January at The Drink nightclub."

Bail means Cheryl has been released by police but must appear before South West Surrey Magistrates Court in Guildford on 25 March.
