Girls Aloud forced Appleton name change
Updated 14 February 2003, 18.27
Appleton
Nicole and Natalie Appleton have confirmed rumours they had to change the name of their album, because of the creation of Girls Aloud.

The sisters' latest release was originally going to be called Aloud.

But once the Pop Rivals band was created, they changed the plan.

Talk of the name change had been flying around fan sites.

So when our showbiz show Newsround Lite caught up with the girls, we asked them straight out.

Natalie admitted it was true, and left her sister to explain.

"We originally chose the name Aloud - because we were 'allowed' to be different from when we were in All Saints," Nicole told us.

"But when that band came out - and Girls Aloud are a good band - we thought, right, it wasn't meant to be."

The new title for their album is Everything's Eventual, named after one of the songs on the CD.

It's out on 24 February.

Nicole told us that "putting the album together was great fun - just the two of us in the studio.

"It's very mellow, it's gentle, easy listening."

Their latest single, Don't Worry, should enter in the Top Ten on Sunday.
