Record company Mercury snapped up the cheeky Scot just hours after he was booted off the show, according to reports in newspapers.

Ainslie was expelled on Friday

He's the first student to be signed up, and it's thought to be worth a whopping £250,000 for the young man.

So even though he was said to be gutted after losing out on the ultimate Academy prize, he didn't walk away completely empty-handed.

It's thought Ainslie will release his first single and album next year.

And we may even see him working with ex-boyband singer Ronan Keating. After the showdown, Ronan said he would love to do something with him.

Let's hope he also gets together with his other Irish pal, Malachi, before too long!
